Special "Slippery" Grease Additional Charge: $5.00

For a small up charge, I offer Finish Line Extreme Fluoro Grease.  This is a very expensive fluorinated and Teflon infused grease which is exceptionally slippery.  It is also more challenging to work with in regard to placing ball bearings for assembly.   If you "race" or compete with your vintage freewheel, or you never liked the spin "feel" of a new sealed bearing (i.e. think cartridge bottom bracket), Finish Line Exteme Fluoro might be for you.

However, my hunch is that the Finish Line grease will not have the same longevity as the Super Lube Synthetic I normally use.  I don't believe it is as water, salt and heat resistant, as the synthetic.  So keep this in mind.

When you schedule your service, just request the "slippery" option!

Freewheel Spa Policies

  • Most prices include return postage.
  • Combined Return Shipping of two or more items will normally reflect a reduction in total price
  • Extra charges will be added in for replacement parts such as new bearings, pawls, internal shims and spacers, outer bearing race/retaining ring, sprockets/cogs, sprocket spacers.
  • Prices on replacement parts vary due to availability and condition.  I will let you know what parts are needed or recommended and quote a price at the time of service.
  • Pictures of work performed and/or parts needed are emailed to each Freewheel Spa customer.
  • $50 of insurance is included with each return.  Additional insurance is extra.
  • Most return shipping is handled through USPS Priority Mail flat rate boxes.
  • International Shipping is extra.  Please contact for a quote.
  • Freewheel Spa Customers are sent an invoice when work is complete through PayPal.  A PayPal account is not needed to make a payment.  Payment via check can be accepted, however, using PayPal provides a nice level of protection for both me and the customer against loss, damage, theft, and fraud.
  • When PayPal notifies me of payment received, I will prepare the freewheel or other part for shipment (usually within 24 hours).  I will notify the customer when shipping occurs and will sign them up for email notifications through the USPS tracking system.
  • When there are no challenges, my turn around time is usually in 24-48 hours.

144BCD & 122 BCD Triplizers & 122 BCD 37 Tooth Chainring:

I don't provide these Stronglight compatible 122BCD and Campagnolo 144BCD  triplizers and chainrings.  My friend, Jon, over in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, has these custom made and offered through Red Clover Components.  You can click on the title above to open a new window or tab in your browser which will take you to his site.

Jon provides a top-notch product that can be found nowhere else on planet Earth.  He's a pleasure to deal with and I can vouch for his chainrings.  I'm using a 122BCD Tripizer on a vintage Gitane TdF.  The Red Clover Triplizer is top shelf, durable, and gets the job done--- which is to help haul our sorry selves up long steep hills!
